    Funny - I've just read South. Epic! A little disappointed to find out he had much of it ghostwritten though. Hurley's photographs are amazing.

    Yes, I think Hurley's photographs beat Ponting's. I haven't read the book, though the film of the voyage, also called South, is worth a look (too many penguins though!). I saw it in the cinema a few years back with piano accompaniment.
